So apparently the bugs in Cambodia like me.
They LOVE me.
Don’t worry, I’m wearing shorts.
I have no idea where they’re coming from and I’m constantly finding new bug bites. I haven’t seen too many bugs during the day and I haven’t felt very many of them biting me. I’ve also been covering myself with bug repellent right before I go to sleep, and that’s been working for the most part. But now they’re just biting me in odd places, like between my fingers and the backs of my heels. I have a cluster of 4 bites right where my shoe rubs on my left foot. It’s been driving me crazy.
It’s so hard to stop scratching too! Ben and Conor have been pretty diligent about reminding me to stop. I think I’m going to run out of the insect bite relief stuff before the year is over.
Any tips on how to prevent bug bites or make them stop itching? I have plenty of opportunities to experiment.
My name is Michelle Huey. I’m a 4th year at UC Davis and I’m majoring in Political Science-Public Service and Design. I have two more classes to go, and I’ll finish those once I get back from Pathfinders. I technically had to drop out of school for a year (sorry, mom). I’ve spent the past year working at the Cross Cultural Center on campus, so I’m excited to put those skills to good use.
I’ve done service projects all my life. I was a Girl Scout for 13 years and I’ve been a Tzu Ching (one of the college volunteers for Tzu Chi Foundation) since then.
I’ve chosen to be a Pathfinder because I think the program is perfect for me! I get to do service projects, expand my knowledge, and travel the world for a fantastic purpose. I’m excited.
Everyone says that this year will change my life and change my perspective on the world. We’ll see how that goes.
