What is Entertaiment?

Entertaiment is an activity that is understood objectively, includes communication between text and audience, derives its pleasure from external stimulus, requires an audience to exist, and occurs in a passive form. It is an important part of human life, but it can also be a source of stress. Entertainmenr includes movies, television shows, music, sports, games, and visual arts. It can be enjoyable for both the participants and spectators, although the enjoyment is often dependent on individual taste and context. Bates and Ferri (2010) suggest that entertainment consists of six elements: objectivity, communication, external stimulus, pleasure, audience, and passivity. The word entertainment derives from the Latin intertenere, which means to hold inside.
